Your Rooms Will Look Better

Many people resist using CFL spiral fluorescent bulbs in light fixtures where the bulbs can be seen. We developed Twister Lens bulb diffusers to address concerns of décor and ease the transition to using more CFL bulbs.

With Twister Compact Lenses you will feel more comfortable about replacing more of your older, incandescent bulbs.

When your spiral bulbs are behind our frosted diffuser lenses, the light is softened and any harsh glare is reduced. The type of bulb is less noticeable. With Twister Lenses in place, your rooms will look more finished and feel better than with bare fluorescent bulbs.

Sizes and Style

Twister Lenses attach directly to the end of spiral fluorescent light bulbs. They are frosted, so the harsh glare of a bare bulb is diffused and softened. Even so, 97% of light passes through Twister diffuser lenses.

There are 3 sizes to choose from:

-- 3inch

-- 4inch

-- 5inch

As noted on the Installation page, the actual diameter of Twister Lenses is 1/8 inch smaller than the named size. So, the actual diameters for the three sizes are 4-7/8 inches, 3-7/8 inches, and 2-7/8 inches across.

How You’ll Save Money

Older style incandescent bulbs provide good light, but they use about 4 times as much electricity as compact fluorescent bulbs to produce the same amount of light. By changing most bulbs to compact fluorescent (CFL) from incandescent, the average U.S. household can save several hundred dollars over the lifetime of the bulbs.

Example:

For every 60-watt standard bulb you replace with a 15-watt compact fluorescent bulb you’ll save $30 to $40 based on various life-cycle cost estimators on the Internet (calculations assume the U.S. average $0.11 kW/h electricity rate ).

So you’ll save at least $30 with just one bulb. The more bulbs you switch, the lower your electricity bill every month. And if you replace standard bulbs that are over 60 watts, your savings are greater for each of those bulbs.

Twister Compact Lenses help you keep or enhance your current home style and bank the savings on electric bills.

Most compact fluorescent (CFL) bulbs in stores have packaging that spell out how much money can be saved in electricity expenses by switching to a fluorescent bulb from an incandescent. Changing just one bulb can save $30, $70, or more per bulb depending on wattage. Check bulb packaging in your local stores.

Businesses:

Many businesses of all sizes are hiring energy management consultants to lower utility bills for facilities and fluorescent lighting is almost always part of the solution. Where spiral CFL bulbs are seen, Twister Compact Lens will diffuse glare and improve the workspace.

No Tools Needed

Twister Lenses are made for the classic sizes of spiral/twist fluorescent light bulbs that replace traditional bulbs of 40 watts or more. No tools are needed to attach the lenses.

Twister Lenses also fit many of the newest micro/ultra compact twist bulbs, especially those of 75 watts or more.

With the bulb in place in the light fixture, gently press the lens and its clip directly over the outermost part of the tube (furthest from the light socket). Then straighten the lens in the light fixture.

See the Installation page for more information.

Using Fewer Resources

Anyone concerned about resources used by energy companies has an additional reason to remove traditional incandescent bulbs and use fluorescent bulbs. Fluorescents are 4 times more efficient at making light.

Twister Lens bulb diffusers make it easier for anyone to make the switch.
